Construction:
The device is made in a standard 1U enclosure (for a 19" rack) and is powered by an external +12V power supply.
The front panel features an LCD display indicating operating modes and control buttons: “UP”, “DOWN”, “LEFT”, “RIGHT”, “EXIT”, “ENTER”, as well as a network power switch.
The device is produced in two versions: “SG4K_01” and “SG4K_02”.
The rear panel of the “SG4K_01” version includes connectors for input signals (BNC, HDMI (DVI connector)), connectors for output signals (2 BNC, HDMI (DVI connector)), a communication interface connector with a PC Ethernet_100 (RJ-45), and two connectors for +12V power supply (XLR-4pin).
The rear panel of the “SG4K_02” version includes connectors for input signals (BNC, HDMI (DVI connector)), connectors for output signals (2 BNC, HDMI (DVI connector)), an optical interface SFP connector (combined input and output), a communication interface connector with a PC Ethernet_100 (RJ-45), an IP interface connector for 1G Ethernet input and output (RJ-45, optional in this model), and two connectors for +12V power supply (XLR-4pin).
Capabilities:
Generation of test signals (SDI, HDMI), including moving images, for the purpose of testing TV signal paths in HD and UHD formats (up to 2160p(50/60/59)Hz).
Conversion of input SDI signal to output HDMI signal or input HDMI signal to output SDI signal with timebase correction via a frame synchronizer.
Embedded audio from input signals is transferred to the output with audio timebase alignment (resampling). It is possible to select the group and stereo pair of embedded audio in both input and output signals.
Communication interface with a PC via "Ethernet_100" for real-time control using the “DSCConfig” software, as well as for firmware and hardware updates via the “FlashUpdate” program.
Built-in player on SDCARD allowing playback of UHD video clips (2160p(50/60/59)Hz). When a lower resolution is selected at the device outputs, downconversion is performed internally by hardware. Video clip recording to SDCARD is done using the “Media Manager” program in DAVC format (a proprietary format by DVL).
Overlay of additional graphic objects. Besides selecting the video source for outputs (test signal generator or format converter) and selecting the test signal, there is an option to select additional graphic objects to be overlaid on the output image:
"Frame";
"Moving square" (color selectable);
"Time timer".
Output of analog audio test signal with adjustable frequency and level.
Output of external sync signal. The output signal option can be selected between “SD black burst” or “HD tri-level sync”.
Control via front panel buttons and LCD indicator or remotely from a PC using the “DSCConfig” software.
