Suggested Applications
The device is intended for cable TV broadcast nets and MMDS systems. It provides all the necessary transformations of a video signal for digital TV broadcasting by cable nets. The supply of 6 analogue composite signals with the sound is sufficient for the device functioning.
The device enables the number of channels in the net to be augmented as compared with the analogue one. It raises also the quality of programs transmitted by existing cable TV nets and provides a means for the use of the noise corrupted ranges that cannot be utilized for analogue signals.
Operational Feasibilities
A single unit offers transformation with broadcast quality of up to 6 analogue programs transmitted at a single carrier in a digital form according to the standard DVB-C in the spectrum of < 8 MHz wide. It is possible to use analogue and digital broadcasting simultaneously. The reception is performed by a standard digital receiver of cable TV. The unit can be equipped with a channel closing system. The level indicator of input audio signals is on the front panel. The unit can process also the S-Video input.
Technical Feasibilities
The transformation is performed as follows. The input signal is decoded and digitalized into the flow according to the recommendation 656. Then it is encoded according to the standard MPEG-2. Those operations are also performed for the sound. Then the signal is multiplexed into a single digital flow and transformed according to the standard DVB-C into the subcarrier signal. The encoding hardware and software are provided. The modulation parameters are selected with consideration for the subsequent use of standard analogue converters of the subcarrier frequency ( SIZE=1>36,15MHz as a rule) into the channel frequency.
